NOTE TO THE PARENTS
St. John’s School, English Medium, Pharsabera, Simdega, has been established primarily for the education of the local boys and girls belonging to the Scheduled Tribes and other Backward Classes. However, boys and girls of other communities are also admitted as mentioned in this diary.
The aim of the school is to give the best service to the people of Simdega by preparing students to think and to attain moral excellence. Once the students are introduced to a world of ideas and moral values, they will become effective agents of positive change in society and will contribute towards making India an ideal nation.
The school authorities will strive to identify the interests and vision of the students and will provide maximum opportunities for them to realise their true vocation in life. To achieve these objectives, the school shall be developed into a fully fledged institution up to 10+2 level. The school follows the CBSE pattern and evaluates the skills and intelligence of students according to the Board’s guidelines.
We request parents to co-operate with the school authorities in the noble task of shaping young minds. Parents are encouraged to meet the school authorities from time to time to discuss their ward’s progress.
Let us be honest and sincere in our duties and responsibilities, and inculcate good values in our children so that they may become good human beings.
The responsibility we share is to nurture children in an ideal environment that will help them study well and develop strong will-power for noble causes. Children imitate quickly; therefore, let us avoid bad habits and scandalous actions.
To educate means to draw out, and if we are to draw out the human mind, we must have a clear understanding of what the mind is like and what sort of faculties are both the object and the means of education. Education is a lifelong process.
We assure you of our best service and dedication. We will abide by the responsibility we have taken upon ourselves. We are serious about our mission. Let us trust each other and respect one another’s worldviews. Parents are requested to go through the following points for the betterment of their wards:
1.Regular parental guidance at home is a must. Parents should give time to their children and be patient with them. This will bring the desired progress in their wards.
2.Parents should not rely completely on a teacher or a caretaker. Doing so deprives children of genuine love, affection, understanding, and spiritual nurture.
3.Parents ought to be deeply involved in the harmonious development of the child’s head, heart, and hands.
4.Parents should create an atmosphere at home where the child feels wanted and cherished for who they are. A child’s personality and behaviour are extremely sensitive to the environment in which they are raised.
5.Both father and mother should be equally concerned about the development of their child’s character. Character-building is the ultimate aim of education.
Every child has a right to adequate nutrition, housing, recreation, and medical care.
A child, due to physical and mental immaturity, needs special safeguard and care, including legal protection before and after birth.
6.A young child should not, except in exceptional circumstances, be separated from his or her mother.
7.Every child has a right to an education that promotes overall culture and enables the development of abilities, judgement, and moral and social responsibility. The best way to bring up a child is never to let them down.
8.Know the true value of time: seize and enjoy every moment of it. No idleness, no laziness, no procrastination. Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today. Take care of the minutes, and the hours will take care of themselves.
9.Make a written plan for each day. Follow it completely and promptly. This is of primary importance.
10.Parents must address any complaints directly to the school authorities and not to the class teacher or through non-teaching staff.
11.The School Diary is an effective means of communication between parents and the school. Therefore, parents/guardians should check their ward’s diary regularly and follow the directions given.
“No man doth safely rule but he that hath learned gladly to obey.”
— Thomas à Kempis
“Education has for its object the formation of character.”
— Robert Southwell
